Description of Loopvibewaistcoat

Loopvibewaistcoat is knitted from the bottom up. First with a rib edge and then with loop stitch on the right side and garter stitch on the wrong side. Knit two front pieces and one back piece and crochet them together on the wrong side. The Loopvibewaistcoat has I-cord edges at the neck opening and all the way down both sides and at the armholes. A belt is knitted to sit at the waist. Loopvibewaistcoat can be made reversible, revealing the crochet fitting. The right side then looks like fake fur, while the wrong side gets a weave-knit touch, so it looks like a Chanel vest with fur edges.

Choice of size

Str. XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL)

Loopvibewaistcoat is designed to match you in circumference. This means you need to knit a vest that measures the same as your bust measurement or the widest point on your torso. The vest gives a little and is both thick and warm, so don't make it too big or it will be too bulky. The vest has a v-neck, so it doesn't close over the chest at first, but it does give a little with use. You should therefore measure yourself and choose a size based on your chest measurement or your widest point on your torso.

Yarn alternatives Loopvibewaistcoat is an ideal project to use up your leftover yarn. Any yarn can be used, as long as you hit the knitting gauge as described above. For example, you can dye your leftover yarn over with a uniform dark colour e.g. brown or blue and use it as a base colour. See inspiration about dyeing leftover yarn on my Instagram profile @knityourvibe. You can also use your leftover yarn together with a solid base colour and change out a follower thread regularly. The only limit is your imagination! 🙂 See examples of colour combinations on instagram @knityourvibe or #loopvibewaistcoat where test knits are also shared.

In this version of the Loopvibewaistcoat you work with 4 threads: 1 thread base colour, 2 threads mohair wool and 1 thread hand dyed mohair or silk as a follow thread. In addition, chunky mohair is used for the I-cord edges and belt. Use alternative ground colour yarn for edges and belt.
