Description of Sailor Vibe Sweater

The Sailor Vibe Sweater is worked from the top down in garter stitch with raglan increases and stripes. A double rib collar is worked first and then short rows are worked to shape the neck. The yoke of the sweater is worked back and forth. A stockinette stitch stripe is worked down between three of the raglan increases. The fourth raglan increase is open and a button placket is then worked there. Divide in the middle of the chest for sleeves and join the body. Sleeves and body are then worked in the round separately. The stockinette stripes from the raglan increases continue down each side of the body and under the sleeves. Work stripes in two different colors on the entire sweater and double ribbing on all rib edges.

There are 2 different versions of the Sailor Vibe Sweater in the pictures. The first 5 pictures show a version with white stripes, knitted in Amira cotton. The cotton sweater is knitted in the size as the pattern indicates. That is, with a chest measurement of 100 cm, size 4 is knitted, which is 95-100 cm and a chest width of 106 cm. The last 5 pictures show a sweater with beige stripes, knitted in wool and is oversize. That is, for chest size 100 cm, size 5 is knitted, which is 100-110 cm and width 116 cm.

Sailor Vibe sweater is knitted in garter stitch, which gives 7-10% with washing and use. Therefore, it is important not to choose too big a size. The design is made to have a movement space of 5-15 cm. You should therefore measure yourself and choose your size based on your chest measurement (or the widest part of your upper body). You should choose the size that your measurement falls within. If you are unsure of your size, go down one size.

Stripes in two different colors. On the Sailor Vibe Sweaters shown in the pictures, all rib edges and narrow stripes are knitted in the color navy (color 1). The wide stripes are knitted in the color white/beige (color 2). The stripes are shaped by 4 rows of color 1, followed by 6 rows of color 2.
Needles: 5 mm circular needles in 40, 80, 120 cm. 4 mm double-pointed needles if you do not want to use the magic loop technique when knitting sleeves. 4 mm circular needles in 40, 80, 120 cm for rib edges.
Stitch markers: 9 pcs.
Buttons: 9-10 for sizes 1-4, 11 for sizes 5-8.
Gauge: 10 cm x 10 cm = 16 sts x 26 rows on needle 5 in garter stitch in your choice of yarn.
