Loopvibewaistcoat English Pattern

Description of the the Loopvibewaistcoat The waistcoat is knitted from bottom up, starting with a rib followed by loop stitches on the right side along with the wrong side containing a regular knit stitch. The work is combined of two front pieces and a back piece, which are crochet together on the wrong side. The finishing touch consist of an i-cord both along the neckline and the armholes. A belt emphasizes the waistline. The waistcoat is reversible and can thereby be used both the right and wrong side. The right side gives a fake fur vibe, while the wrong side imitates weave knitting, making it look like a Chanel waistcoat with a personal touch.
Needles Circular needles 5 and 6 mm (20 cm) or double pointed needles 5 and 6 mm. Circular needles 6 mm (60 and 120 cm) and 7 mm (80). Crochet needle 4.5 to assemble it.
Gauge 10 x 10 cm = 10 sts x 16 rows with 7 mm needles in the loop stitch. The gauge swatch should include all four strains of yarn the waistcoat is intended with.
Yarn alternatives The project is ideal for scrap yarn, making it possible to use different types, colors, and amount of strains as long as the gauge is intact. If you prefer a uniform color of all the scraps, you can try to dye the yarn with dark colors such as brown or blue. You can find inspiration for the color palette on my Instagram, @knityourvibe, where testknitters along with different yarn combinations have been posted to inspire you. See the finished tests and waistcoats on #loopvibewaistcoat.
In my version of the waistcoat, I have used 4 strains of yarn: 1 strain main color, 2 strains mohair wool, and 1 strain hand dyed mohair or silk.
A chunky mohair is used for the i-cords and the belt to fit the piece.
Main color: “Filati Cervinia” (70% wool og 30% akryl), 50g = 91 m. OR Mayflower easycare BIG 50 g = 85 m OR 2 strains of angora merino from Garnspecialisten. For all of the above options, the gauge is 10cm x10cm = 18 sts x 26 rows with 5 mm.
Mohair wool: 2 strains of “Marvellous mohair” from Garnspecialisten (40% mohair, 35% wool og 25% nylon), 25g= 125 m, with a gauge of 10cm x 10cm = 15sts x 15 rows with 5 mm.
Silk or kid-silk mohair: Hand dyed mohair OR Silk by Knit Your Vibe OR Drops kid silk mohair 25g=225 m, gauge 10cm x 10cm = 23 sts x 30 rows with 3,5 mm.
The edges and belt is knitted with black chunky mohair from Garnspecialisten or the main color.

The waistcoat is designed to match your chest size and does stretch a bit during wear. It is a warm but chunky waistcoat, why it should not be much larger than the broadest point on your chest, since it can appear too extreme. The waistcoat outlines the chest with a flattering V-neck to emphasize the shapes of a woman body.
